The Heroes continue the exploration of the mansion, discovering more details about its former residents. An order of paladin, founded by the silver dragon Argynvost, once occupied the vast compound. But, probably not surprisingly, the order fell into disgrace due to the actions of Strahd.
When they meet the now undead grandmaster of the order, the Heroes try to use its rage against Strahd to earn an ally. But the revenant is too consumed by hate, and the encounter degenerates into a fight. When the Heroes destroy the undead, Anomander takes possession of its magic greatsword, a fine weapon whose hilt is shaped like a silver dragon. The dark elf names the blade "Argynvost", to honor the memory of the founder of the order.
After a short rest, the Heroes explore the remaining rooms of the palace. Phantom warriors still guard the towers, and more spectral minions roam the halls. The Heroes' quest to reclaim ancient Argynvosthold is not yet over!
