Session 7

Back in the Blue Water Inn, the innkeeper Martikov asks the Heroes for help; his stock of wine is running low, and the usual supplier from the Wizard of Wines Winery is late with his consignment. Fearing the worst has happened, he asks the Heroes to travel to the Winery and investigate.

 

On their way, while camping for the night, they're attacked by a pack of werewolves hunting a young woman. They kill the beasts, and keep the woman safe, until they can deliver her to the Winery.

 

When they arrive at destination, they discover that the owner of the Winery is actually Martikov's father; he informs them that the compound has been attacked by a cabal of evil druids and their monstrous plant allies. The Heroes enter the Winery, slaughtering all the druids and the evil blights infesting it.

 

Having earned the trust of the Martikov family, the old man pledge his alliance to the Heroes. He reveals his identity as a wereraven, same as his son and his family. In fact, he's a member fo the Keepers of the Feather, a wereraven cabal sworn to fight evil in Barovia. Such an alliance may come in handy when they finally face Strahd.

 

But it seems the Heroes' work is not yet done. Three magical seeds, the most important ingredient for the sublime wine produced by Martikov, have been stolen. He knows the location of two of the seeds: one has been taken by the druids of Yester Hill, while the other has been taken to the town of Berez. The Heroes rest for the night, planning their trip to Yester Hill.
