Session 1

The Heroes are surrounded by unnaturals mists, delivering them to the lands of Barovia, in a dark forest. Spurred by howling wolves, they break their camp and follow a trail, eventually discovering the corpse of a messenger, still clutching a parchment. A request for help, from the mayor of the town of Barovia.

Rose and Thorn

The Heroes arrive in a deserted town, but soon spot a pair of kids, a boy and a girl, crying on the street. They ask the Heroes to enter their home, where a monster is terrorizing their family.

In the ancient house, the Heroes soon discover that dark forces are at work. Murdered corpses and evil influences occupy the dark rooms. No living creature can be found.

Secluded in the attic, the Heroes find the remain of two kids. When their ghosts appear, they realize they're the same kids that sent them into the house. The ghosts point the Heroes to a secret passage that will bring them to where the "monster" can be found.

The Heros use the secret tunnel, descending into the catacombs beneath the house. Undead guardians crave their flesh and blood, but the Heroes win the day. Before proceeding further, they decide to retreat into the house, and spend the night.
